BRIGHTS HELPS ATHLONE SCHOOL SAVE WATER
Picture: Principal Gwynne Philander and learners from Ned Doman Secondary School in Athlone receive water tanks donated by BRIGHTS Hardware – in aid of the school’s water-saving efforts.
After learning about Ned Doman Secondary School’s efforts to reduce their water usage and become less reliant on municipal water, BRIGHTS HARDWARE’s CEO, Mr Orlando Luis, was inspired to help them achieve this important goal.
BRIGHTS has always been passionate about helping the community in whichever way possible, and this is no exception. Ned Doman Secondary School has shown great initiative, and our aim is simply to support them in this endeavour. – Mr Luis
The school indicated a need for more water tanks, prompting BRIGHTS to donate 3 x 5000-litre Eco tanks, which will be added to their existing water-storage infrastructure. At the moment, stored rainwater is used to maintain gardens on the premises, but with the added capacity, the school will be looking at using this water for toilets instead.
Upon accepting the tanks, principal Gwynne Philander thanked BRIGHTS for the donation and promised that they would continue doing their bit to save water and teach the learners about the importance of using water sparingly.
