LADIES’ DIY CLASSES GOING STRONG
In a recent news post, we told you about a series of Ladies’ DIY classes supported by Brights Hardware. In this post, we take a look at what the ladies have been up to since our last update, and also tell you how to join these informative classes next year. Stay tuned!
Lesson 4: 14 October 2015
Brights sponsored the grinders and discs for this class and the ladies learnt to work with angle grinders. They were a bit scared of the idea of using grinders at first, but the sparks were flying merrily once they all had a chance to power them up and grind and cut steel.

Lesson 5: 28 October 2015
It was again a huge success and the ladies were all very impressed to learn about taps and caulking. They all had some experience with caulking, but Allan was however able to teach them some caulking tricks which they were glad to learn. The ladies also learnt how to attach a copper pipe with cone fitting, among other things.

Lesson 6: 11 November 2015
This lesson included some electrical safety and theory, after which the ladies all learnt how to make a mini extension lead with the items provided by Brights.

Lesson 7: 25 November 2015
Continuing their electrical education, the ladies leant how to solder electrical connections and wire a bed lamp – so they know where to look for faults if something goes wrong. Brights sponsored an extra bench and vice for this class, which were well put to use in this rather intricate but enjoyable lesson.
